Suit Supply F/W 12 Preview.
It seems Suit Supply has given us an extensive sneak peak into the suits and jackets they will be offering us for the colder seasons ahead.
Although it’s been raining every day here in the Netherlands and the summer is yet to properly start, the dreary weather has made me think about what pieces to add to my winter wardrobe.
When opening the preview page, the first thing I notice is that there are a high number of Washington model suits. It’s a slim cut, which is good for someone with my build, but due to the aggressive peak lapels this cut is not really an option to wear in my line of work. Too bad because some models have really nice fabrics: 1 & 2.
The options that do work for me are the Sienna and London cut, which I know fit me well.
My favourites of those are these particular ones:
This S140 Wool in dark blue. The Sienna cut is slim and has a beautiful shoulder, and the shade of blue is different enough from a standard navy that every guy already has (or should have) in their closet.
And this mid-grey S110 Wool seems like a good workhorse suit, it has an interesting weave so it stands out amongst the other grey suited men around the office.
Then there are some suits in the Lazio model, which I have not seen in stores before, so I’m curious to check it out. For example this mini-houndstooth three-piece suit:
What I’m missing is a heavy flannel chalkstripe, which I saw in Sobs’ Caruso collection last weekend. Maybe there is more to come from Suit Supply, but they’re off to a good start for the upcoming season.
And besides the suits I posted earlier, there are some new casual jackets available.
The Havana model is new this season, the description promises a fitted 2-button jacket with natural shoulders, side vents. Pictured above is a very interesting Loro Piana wool/silk blend and a check pattern by Fintes.
